What is invasive physiotherapy

These are physiotherapy techniques that use a very fine needle that passes through the skin to act directly on the muscle, tendon or nerve that is causing the problem.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound lets us see the tissues we are working on in real time. That gives us more precision and safety, and lets us explain to you what we see.

They are not stand-alone techniques: they are part of a physiotherapy plan that usually also includes manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

How we work

1. Assessment

We review your history, examine the area and, if needed, assess it with ultrasound. We also check that there are no contraindications.

2. We explain it to you

Before applying any technique, we tell you what it involves, what you will feel and what alternatives there are. You always decide.

3. Combined treatment

We combine the invasive technique with manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, and review how you respond.

Who will see you

You will be seen by Javier Galindo, a physiotherapist specialising in sports, musculoskeletal and invasive physiotherapy. The whole team works with ultrasound and dry needling when the case requires it.
